Shorter Break than Expected

This blog would probably have taken a longer break if it wasn't for the fact that I found something to write about by the way of a second place finish in a Poker Stars 180 player Sit-N-Go.

My tournament game has been out of sorts for some time now so I spent several days stubournly playing tounrmanets in an effort to force myself to play them with more disciplin. I felt in great shape the whole way through and was really happy with the way I played. Well, that was untill I gave up a 5-1 chip lead when we got heads-up. To give my opponent his dues (and to save some face), he played very well heads-up and it took me too long to adjust to his style. By that point we were even in chips and my A2 lost to his TT. Game-over, but I was still very happy to have a decent score.

My big poker challenge for the medium term is to move up in stakes. I've been hovereing between the $50 and $200 (mostly at the $100) NL tables for too long now (over a year) and it's time I made some steps up. I feel that my game has improved a decent ammount over the last few months, but the need for regular cashouts is seriously hampering any advance to the higher levels. So the plan is not to take any cashouts untill the bankroll reaches $10K and I can comfortably play the $400-500 tables. Since I'm only managing 10-15 hours of a play a week, this will take some time, but it really needs to be done. For the very reason that I can only play a few hours a week, it would be very handy to increase the hourly earn rate. I'd dearly love to be playing the $1,000 tables this time next year, but that might be slightly unrealistic.

That's it for now. Consider the blog back on a break, at least, until I post again.

A Break in Transmission

This blog is taking some time off.

It'll be back, for sure, but right now I simply dont have much to say - at least, not much that fits on a (mainly) poker blog. I'll continue to to drop by from time to time and with any luck I'll have something interesting to say, but it certainly wont be regularly.

This is mostly due to the new job. So far I'm loving it and being kept nicely busy. But this blog had been dying a slow death for a while. I cant remember the last interesting post.

Take care.
