Keeping Busy

I know I've been quiet, but there's really not been all that much to say. I'm busy working and poker has been displaced to the back burner. October was essentially a break even month and I only managed about 25 hours at the tables. I hit the final table of the Blogger Freeroll on PokerStars and won a $1050 and $530 Sunday Million tickets, so maybe I can turn those into some big money. God knows when, though. I need my sleep these days and it'll be a while till I'll get any Monday mornings off.

The opening of Dusk Till Dawn is on the horizon. I may not have much of a bankroll at the moment, but I accrued about £1500 worth of comps while I was playing full time, which I can use to buy into tournaments as well as pay for food and drinks. So I'm heading up for the opening weekend to get involved in the shenanigans. I'm playing the £100 tourney on Friday night and the £500 one on Saturday and depending on the size of the cashgames I'll either dabble in those or just get blind drunk, maybe both ;-)

Until this last week and aside from one trip to the Vic a month or so ago, I hadn't played live poker for well over three months. On Wednesday night I caught up with some friends I hadn't seen for a while and played a couple of hours. It was a school night so I couldn’t stay long but it was fun to splash some chips and I lost much less than I had been tending to it that game.

I held my own game last night for some neewbies that I've met from work. Plenty of beer and banter and I even managed to book my first home game win for ages and ages - I guess I can still beat beginners!

Good luck at the tables.
