Time Away

Just a quicky...

1. Appologies for lack of posting.

2. Work sucks at the moment. Quite boring and frustrating.

3. Poker continues to go very well. I've put in a hell of a lot of hours this month. I'm still calling a bit too often when I know I'm beat, but otherwise I think I'm playing reasonably well.
I'm trying hard to qualify for the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour event in Cardif at the end of March. It's a £1000 buyin which is just a bit too much for me to buy in directly.

4. Mrs. Pink and I have got the next 10 days or so off work. We're going to Oxford, visiting Little Pink for his birthday and then spending a few nights in the Lake District. We're really looking forward to the time off and with with some luck the weather will be good enough to enjoy some fine walks and views.

That's all for now. Hopefully we'll come back with some good pictures to liven this space up a little...

More of January, Pease.

I like 2007. It's going well.

January was my biggest ever winning month and comfortably wiped out my November and December losses (my two biggest loosing months). If it hadn't been for an expensive Sunday evening when I played in 7 of the big tournaments and only cashed in one of them, then it could have been an even bigger month.

It enabled me to cash out a small chunk and pay off a bit of the mortgage, which felt good despite its being an almost insignifiacnt percentage.

Cashouts dont help the bankroll, however. It would be nice to be able to swell the coffers in order to take the occasional shot a bigger games, but I'm also not in that much of a hurry to jump up so I can live with spending some of the profits!

I've switched almost all of my cash game play over to Dusk Till Dawn Poker - a relatively new Crypto skin. I'd forgotten how good the Crypto cash games were and I've been multi-tabling the £200 short-handed NL tables. The great thing about the £200 tables if that the players are just as bad as the $200 tables but the stakes are effectively twice as high. Badger.

Dusk Till Dawn is a bricks and mortar poker romm set to open in Nottingham later this year. It's set to be the biggest poker room in Europe and with over 50 tables it should be able to host EPT and possibly even WPT events.

Thier online site has been running for a few months. Everyone who generates 250 MPPs per week gets 30% rakeback automatically. Additionally every MPP is redemable in the live club at a value of £0.02 each for membership fees, tournament entry, food, drink and merchandise. That basically equaltes to an aditional 10% rakeback. By the time the club opens I should have generated enough MPPs to comp my entire weekend there!

I shoul have some affiliate banners up and running shortly. So if you could hold off signing up until then that would be much appreciated ;-)

I have to return to the oven and tend to the roasting beef, but standby for a post on yesterday's crazy early morning session at the Gutshot, where I came across Dubai for the first time and also standby for details of last night's home game where I bluffed off 300 bigblinds with DA HAMMAH!
