Rollercoasters - Poker and Real Estate
Rake is cheaper than Estate Agents and Solicitors fees; large bankroll fluctuations are less stressful than buying a flat.
This week my bankroll finally reached the $10K mark and then I promptly dropped the whole month's profit in three days of beats and tilt. I'll get over it and hopefully I'll end up a better player. It didn't help that as I lost my third buy-in of yesterday morning I got a phone call from the Estate Agent wondering where our deposit money was. A good question, I thought to myself, for I believed it was in the hands of our solicitor, who - when I telephoned a moment later - transpired to be away until after the weekend. Nice of him to make sure everything was sorted out before disappearing only 24 hours before we were set to exchange contracts.
Miraculously we have now successfully exchanged contracts, paid the deposit and set a completion date of 18th August. Hurrah.
Both Mrs. Pink and I are gagging for a holiday, but we're not likely to be able to take any time off until after the move. I'm also overdue some live poker, but that's probably going to have to wait a while too. Spare time seems to be at a premium recently, but nevertheless I've managed to squeeze in a bit of sport and fitness. I've joined a football team that's affiliated with the job. They play in the Essex league on Saturday afternoons with training on Wednesday evenings. The first training session was mostly fitness orientated and I almost died. A bit of work's needed in that department, perhaps. I'm also looking at signing up for a weekly Turkish class in the Autumn, as I was worried that I once the move is out of the way I might be sitting around twiddling my thumbs too much.
Right, you'll have to excuse me while I search under removal firms in the Yellow Pages.
